Made by Murray is my website for all of my creative output. In a previous life, before I moved to Orkney and started a degree in archaeology, I was a freelance illustrator. My work appeared in Eagle Award nominated comics and many years ago, I won a place in an international illustration competition. Nowadays I still do the odd illustration, but my focus has shifted onto textiles. I spin, knit and crochet. I dye my own fleece. I design my own patterns. I try to learn a new stitch every week. I think about how people in the past engaged with crafts, and how they can be used to communicate with groups of people. Textiles are slowly taking over my life, I say with no regrets whatsoever.
