Shining Light Hat Knitting Pattern

4.50

Inspired by the many lighthouses found throughout the Northern Isles, the pattern for this Fair Isle-style hat first appeared in Knit Now! magazine No. 66.

To knit this hat, you will need the following materials:

  • 4ply/fingering yarn in four different colours (the exact yarn used in the pictured sample is JC Rennie Unique Shetland; you will need approximately 25g of white, green and blue, and a small amount of yellow for accent stripes)

  • DPN's or circular needles (circular is only recommended for knitters who are comfortable with the magic loop method) in 2.5mm and 3mm.

  • Stitch marker

  • Pompom maker/template

  • Tapestry needle

  • Two 10cm/4" pieces of scrap yarn in a strong contrasting colour

The pattern includes full written instructions, including instructions on how to knit the decrease seeding on the crown, as well as a full colour chart.

Please note that this listing is for the pattern only, and not in the finished knitted item. This pattern has been tested, however if you find any errors or have any queries concerning the instructions, please contact me via email.
